There is light at the end of the tunnel

Kitchen...close to being operational
The bases of the kitchen cabinets are painted! Mom Hobbs took home most of the doors and they are primed, but still need to be painted along with the drawers. Many of them need to be repaired as well.

The Appliances are In!
Dustin and Dad Hobbs installed the appliances on Friday night and Saturday afternoon. The microwave was quite a group effort and it was finally installed on the 7th try. I only had to go to Lowe's twice during the process of installing appliances.

The Refrigerator is Finally in the House!
Dustin and I are still having to get used to the idea that the refrigerator is in the kitchen, not in the garage. The only issue with it is that we weren't able to get much water pressure. When we went to replace the valve, we realized that it had rotted out. Luckily our contractor, Brother Don, was still at the house and we had enough brass fittings around to almost get it fixed. We should have filtered water and ice as of tomorrow! The other good news is that the countertops are being installed tomorrow afternoon as well. The cabinet install company came to install last Wednesday when we realized there had been a miscommunication and the countertops were fitted for the old stove. It delayed us about a week.

The Dryer Vent has issues....
One of the ongoing problems is that in order for the dryer to work without getting too hot it has to be pulled out 2 feet from the wall. It's amazing how Dustin can crawl into the tiniest of places. We seemed to have reached the point where we will have to drill a new hole for the dryer vent and vent it directly outside. Right now the exit for the vent is on the opposite side as the vent on the dryer and it has to go up through the wall and to the roof. It appears to be too many turns.

Guest Bath...On It's Way
Our contractor, Brother Don, is making progress on the guest bathroom. The new tub is in place. Upon removing the mirror, damage to the drywall was discovered. Much of it is being replaced. The new shower enclosure will soon be finished. The countertop also gets installed tomorrow. The target date to have the guest bath completed is August 1st.

More pictures of the new tub!

One of the Best Suprises Yet!
Several families of wild turkies were roaming the neighborhood on Friday! We've come to the conclusion that they live on the golfcourse. They were back in the neighborhood again this morning for a stroll.
